FM Services Manager, East Ayrshire Council

I have worked with East Ayrshire Council / Strathclyde Council for over 38 years, always in Facilities Management.

When I started with Strathclyde Regional Council in 1988, I worked as a School Janitor at a small Nursery school moving to posts in Primary schools & Secondary schools and eventually becoming Senior Janitor at both Kilmarnock and Auchinleck Academies.

After completing a Diploma in Public Service Leadership through the University of The West of Scotland I moved into Management in 2010 as an Operations assistant before gaining the position of Area Manager and on to my current position of FM Services Manager covering Janitorial, Cleaning and Crossing Patrol services across East Ayrshire Council.

Over my many years of experience I have enjoyed the challenging and rewarding times that we all experience, I would say my resilience and attitude towards public service have served me well and continue to do so even after all these years and through so many changes.
