Stephanie Slater
Founder and Chief Executive at School Food Matters
Stephanie set up School Food Matters in 2007 after successfully campaigning to improve the food at her children’s primary school. Stephanie is a founder member of the School Food Review, a group calling for reform of school food policy so that no child misses out on the nutrition they need to thrive.
She is also a founder member of the Food Education Network, an alliance of organisations and individuals committed to championing food education in England.
In January 2025, Stephanie was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Roehampton for achievements and contributions to children’s health and school food. In June she was awarded an MBE for services to children and young people.
